Drishyam tells the story of Vijay Salgaonkar (Ajay Devgn), a cable operator in a small town in Goa. With his wife Nandini (Shriya Saran) and two daughters Anju (Ishita Dutta) and Anu (Mrunal Jadhav), he lives a modest existence. However, things take a drastic turn when Vijay's daughter Anju goes on a nature camp and accidentally kills Meera Deshmukh's (Tabu) kid during a video shoot.

Fearing the consequences, Vijay takes matters into his own hands and methodically conceals the crime. The audience is then taken on an exciting ride as the police investigate the case and Meera attempts to solve the mystery of the missing youngster.

Ajay Devgn excels as Vijay Salgaonkar, a humble and unassuming man who utilises his wit and brains to protect his family. Tabu, as Meera Deshmukh, gives her character depth, making it one of the most memorable roles of her career. The supporting cast also gives strong performances.

The screenplay is well-written, and the film's pace keeps the audience interested throughout. The direction is tight, and the cinematography portrays the panoramic beauty of Goa nicely.

Drishyam's unusual storyline is one of its finest points, keeping the spectator wondering till the very end. The film also raises serious concerns about the role of law and morality in safeguarding the innocent.
