Billy Batson, a troubled 14-year-old, obtains the ability to turn into an adult superhero with extraordinary powers by repeating the word "Shazam!" Billy, together with his foster brother Freddy, must learn how to use his new abilities and prevent the wicked Dr. Thaddeus Sivana from using the same abilities for his own nefarious reasons.


Shazam! gained worldwide recognition for its wit, passion, and powerful performances. One of the film's great performances is Zachary Levi's portrayal of Shazam, who captures the character's childish joy and exuberance while simultaneously communicating the weight of duty that comes with his powers. Asher Angel is also good as Billy Batson, lending the character sensitivity and relatability.
