The film begins with the Pakistan Navy deciding to send the Pakistan Navy's PNS Ghazi, led by Captain Razzak (Rahul Singh), to the Bay of Bengal to assault and destroy the Indian aircraft carrier INS Vikrant. Meanwhile, the Indian Navy learns of the plan and dispatches its own submarine, INS Karanj, under the leadership of Lt. Commander Arjun Varma (Rana Daggubati), to intercept the Ghazi.
As the INS Karanj approaches the Bay of Bengal, it is attacked by the Ghazi, which damages the Indian submarine. The Karanj, on the other hand, manages to flee and seek safety in the Sunderbans Delta. Arjun Varma and his second-in-command, Executive Officer Commander Rann Vijay Singh (Atul Kulkarni), lead the crew while the submarine is repaired and re-equipped.
The Indian Navy receives word that the Ghazi is on its way to the port of Vishakhapatnam to destroy the INS Vikrant. In response, the Indian Navy dispatches a decoy ship to confuse the Ghazi, while INS Karanj approaches the submarine.
The Pakistani submarine detects the INS Karanj as it approaches the Ghazi, and the two engage in a furious combat. The Indian crew is successful in launching torpedoes at the Ghazi, causing it to sink to the seafloor.
The PNS Ghazi was destroyed by its own mines, which were laid by its crew owing to miscommunication, as shown in the film's last minutes.
