The Marvel superhero film "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" follows the narrative of Shang-Chi, a brilliant martial artist who is forced to confront his history and his family's terrible secrets.

The film begins with Shang-Chi (Simu Liu) enjoying an everyday life in San Francisco, working as a valet driver alongside his closest friend Katy (Awkwafina). His life is flipped upside down, however, when he is accosted on a bus by a group of armed men seeking a pendant he holds.

Shang-Chi discloses to Katy that he is the son of Wenwu (played by Tony Leung), the chief of the Ten Rings, a centuries-old criminal organisation. Shang-Chi and his sister, Xialing (played by Meng'er Zhang), were trained as assassins by their father, but Shang-Chi abandoned the organisation years ago to start a new life in America.


Shang-Chi and Katy head to Macau to confront Wenwu and stop him from getting a mystical artefact that will provide him the ability to resurrect his late wife. Along the way, they meet Shang-Chi's estranged sister Xialing and come across a secret organisation known as the "Ten Rings."
