Arun Neelakandan (Pranav Mohanlal) begins his first year of engineering college in the film. He is a popular young man who is easygoing and outgoing. Soon after, he falls in love with Darshana Menon (Kalyani Priyadarshan), a gorgeous and intellectual girl in his class. They begin dating and shortly fall passionately in love.

Their partnership, however, is not without its difficulties. Darshana's parents dislike Arun and strive to keep the two of them apart. Arun must also deal with his own concerns regarding his future. He is unsure about his future plans and is concerned about disappointing his parents.

Despite the difficulties, Arun and Darshana's love becomes stronger. They are there for one other through thick and thin and help each other grow as individuals. However, their relationship ends when Darshana decides to relocate to the United States to further her education.

Arun reflects about his connection with Darshana at the end of the film. He realises how much he has learned from her and is appreciative for the time they have spent together. He also recognises that he is ready to move on with his life and is looking forward to what the future brings.

Hridayam is a stunningly beautiful film that depicts a joyful story of love, grief, and self-discovery. The script, acting, and direction are all excellent. The music is also superb, and it contributes to the film's overall tone. Fans of Malayalam film and love dramas should enjoy Hridayam.
